Treasurer's Office

Taxes are mailed on or before July 1st and Dec 1st every year.  Summer taxes are due by Sept 14, winter taxes are due by Feb 14.  If these dates fall on a weekend or holiday they will be  extended to the next business day.  The treasurer's office has extended hours close to the deadlines for payments.  Important information concerning extended hours, forms of payment and the different ways to make your payment  is detailed on the back of the tax bills.  All unpaid real taxes are turned over to Washtenaw County on March 1st and payment for real property can only be made at Washtenaw County after that date.  You may find information pertaining to delinquent taxes at the  Washtenaw County website

Some of the duties of the Treasurer are:

  • Collects real and personal property taxes;
    * Receives receipts for township expenditures;
    * Deposits township revenues in approved depositories;
    * Invests township funds in approved investment vehicles;
    * Collects delinquent personal property tax;
    * Is responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax;
